29/02 Leap year

This day is an odd day
Happy random birthday
To random leaping people
It's a Penzance party
A  raving pirate and a drunken
Woman proposing to the man
And a jug of beer and bitter
Laughter and joy
This time of the year
That comes only every
Quatro-annually
Quatre... Quartino?
Anyway
It's an odd day

28/02 Arran 2

Just take me back
To that time on the island
Where we ran across rocks and laughed
Take me back to that time
Where you learnt how to skim rocks
And you learnt to talk Scots
And you meant lots
Take me back
To those days
Where we became a group of many
When the sky was clear
And we walked for miles
And you got caught out to sea
Because you only wanted to watch seals
You were weird
So were you
And so was I

27/02 Arran Beach

The white sun rises in a white sky
Over the beach of broken rocks
White froth flotsams over the shore
And a gull cries out, forever more
The air is thick with salty scents
Seaweed catches under nose
It cracks underfoot as we stride
And rest on seals fur, scarring their hide
Life is life and love is love here
Things are simple yet complex so
They can hide and they can be seen
Shaping by footprints where they've been
Sandy beach and sandy rocks
We walk and we scramble and race until
We're breathless, we're laughing
We're children again.

26/02 Let there be

Let there be
Silence
That comes with the night
Let there be
Hunger
That comes with thirst
Let there be
Terror
That comes with dreams
Let there be
Horror
Which is more than it seems

25/02 Come

Little children
Come into my halls
Come under my wings
And bathe in my glory
Little children
From near and far
Come with your kin
Your siblings all
Little children
Gather all around
And I will tell you the story
Of paradise

23/02 Spirits

Talking shit about the cold reading
Saying I'm a supernaturalist
I can read your mind and fate
All on this rocking world
And in tumbling paradise
You think you can bring people
To their knees with your daughters
And Johns and Janets and
Dogs in hallways
Changing a spirit channeller
To a curious sceptic
All bless the Derren Browns of our age
