They tried to take me
But I ran before they could
The doors swung open
The ropes unbound
And so I ran
My feet whispered
On the dry red ground
I passed by grasses
And people
Without sound
Those people who had me
Had been caught
By unawares
And the new ones who wanted
Freed me instead
Past them I ran
Fleeing that prison
Flowers blooming all over
As I ran
As I ran
I passed houses and fields
Mountains and stream
Flocks of sheep and horses
Resting birds, waking cows
Passing as if a dream
I was fleeting and I was fast
Fast as I ran
Ran to where my feet took me
Miles and miles and miles
Eventually I got to
The place that I wanted
There was a small house
And a small stream
Forwards I ran
Ran through the door
To cry "I'm home."
