It's like the sun warming your skin on a summer afternoon
Before I sat in my own parlour and I wonder what it would be like to embrace you
You said that we could become one together, yet you kept yourself 'pure for now' because of a vow
You said that we had to wait, that we had to be sure
Sure of our feelings despite the fact we stood at the altar and signed away our rights to individual life
I wondered what it was like, after all the rumours
I had to wait for you for the longest year
Ages seemed to pass and creatures were born, grew and died like the flowers in my vase, the petals falling off one by one
Like the tears falling from my face when I sat there in private
Wondering what it would be like to simply embrace you
But then
Then you were ready
And you held me
And it was heaven
It was like the sun warming your skin on a summer afternoon
