23/10Train Trash Talk

to quote...
If you're a plastic surgeon
and you have got
looks, good looks
you'll have sex with one
or two
Or so
of your patients.

21/10 I, My, Is

Love
I love
My love
My love
Is my love
And I love
My love

22/10 Food

I gifted you my heart
And you gave me vegan bolognese
I love you with all my soul
And thank the heavens
For good Italian food

20/10 Soon To End

Soon I will be going back
Into a life of normality
Soon I will be heading back home
And things will be the same
Same flat, same street
Same friends, same world
Except one thing
Except one name
Except one man
Who I love for eternity

19/10 Pigeon

My dear little grey thing
With your bobbing head
Thank you for following me
All my journey through
As I thought of romance
You were here with
And as I rode on the train
Your image was beside
YOu flew to meet me
At least that I imagine
And now I sit here dreaming
And you are here too
You came from the Michael Square
I came from Glasgow
And now here we are companions
Friends in Verona, little pigeon
And I will never forget

18/10 Balcony

I see you
Up there, hair waving in the moonlight
I see you
Fair maiden
In my mind's eye.
I stand here, looking down
Over the crowds as my photo is taken
And imagine
Him climbing up this vine
The necklace falling to his hand
You blowing kisses into the air
Saying, "Farewell my love.
My love, farewell.
I will see you tomorrow to be wed."

17/10 Tomb

I want to be here
When I die
I want people to imagine
My tomb like this
Even though it may not be hers
It is clear
She is beloved
She lives on in literature history
She is created by paper
And she is alive by that at least

15/10 Statue

Its abundantly clear
To me that
She was just a girl
In a world
And she got whirled away
They say
It is the best romance
But really they were
Just children
Now hands clamour to touch her
Her breast is shiny
By desire
By those wanting to reach her
And ask her blessing
Dear Juliet
Let me find my man

16/10 Go, Fly, Land

I go
We go
To wherever the wind takes us
I fly
You fly
And run to romance

14/10 Shakespearean Kate

When I think of you
In the past
Scribbling down all these words
Making up these very terms
I imagine you
Walking these streets
Imagining your Kate dancing
Under the covered walkways
She was a shrew you called her
But I think her bright
I call her intelligent
And independent
She just found her right man
In these streets of the university town
Where I expected more but found rain
I imagine you walking, striding
And want to be the same
How you got your inspiration for here
I will never know
Maybe it is just the tolling bells
And the history
That inspired you so
But at least for now I can seek a garden
And imagine Kate there
Sitting on a porch with her beloved
With her wild nature and wilder hair
Singing into the future and the past
So I can hear her now

13/10 Rain

Tinker
Tunker
Pippit
Plop
Will this rain
Ever stop?

13/10 Padua

Dull little city
With drab little windows
And ill-begotten architechture
All I wanted was some inspiration
And all I got was students

12/10 Train

On the train today
Saying goodbye to that place
On the train today
Moving across the earth's face
Waving farewell to the fields
As they pass by
Hearing the whirring wheels
Of the train taking us away
On the train today
Saying goodbye to that world
On the train today
Moving into a new story

11/10 Venice

I can hear the voices
Of those having walked before
Striding these cobbles
Resting in these balconies
I listen to their foosteps
The ancient songs they sang
I imagine their lives before this
Before the international desire
A desire to come here and to see
A desire to walk these streets
And take part of the scene
To take advantage of the lovers
Take advantage of the lost
I imagine those before us here
Who called this home
Who didn't understand tourism
Who just lived here, didn't worry
About the sinking city that this now is

10/10 To Sea

Shimmering without mercy
Showing the way to history
It is a light that calls you
Calls all of us to come towards
Soundless speckles on a watery pathway
Making the roads, showing the walkway
The cobbled narrow paths
That sidle by the waters
What is it that made the ancient men
Build such a place with little land
Construct the world upon
These rivers polluted
Perhaps it was the light
Shimmering on the water
Calling us to glory, to life
To go out to sea

09/10 Breathe

Breathe
It's all you can do
Breathe
And be new
Breathe in
The foreign air
Breathe in as you
Lie in the hotel bed
Breathe
And look left
And he is there
You know he is
You feel he is
Breathe

08/10 Sonnet 1

When I first gazed upon your face so fair
Little realisation or know had I
No indication to be aware
That you were to be my questing ally
My closest companion in the wild fray
Facing battles and behemoths of life
Becoming mightier partners daily
Gaining to this day as husband and wife
And now I stand with you my dear, my heart
Ready to strive from this bonny day
Hand in hand, nought to be broken apart
By any which threats come our unified way
Dear Gordon, I thank you for loving not just me
But also bunny, who makes our family three

07/10 Tomorrow

Tomorrow it is
Tomorrow is to come
Tomorrow it is
My life will change

06/10 Away Today

I'm away today
Back home to my land
I'm away today
To make my last stand
To be what I am
To be what I was
And later on
My dear we'll find
The dangerous thoughts
In our minds
Are in fact just fantasies
Of our lives to be
I'm going home today
To say goodbye to my
Past and family

05/10 Longing

Longing to be
Longing to want
Longing to love
And longing to have
Longing to shout
And longing to cry
Longing to live
Longing to die

04/10 Goodbye

Goodbye my love
Tomorrow will be
A day where I am different

03/10 Life

Living up
And living close
Educated
But unemployed
Loving here
And loving there
Going home
And coming back

02/10 Fortune

Let fortune be my fortune
Let fortune
Be my guide
Let fortune
Turn her wheel clockwise
And lead me to survive
